I originally owned the BonJour Cafe Milano 9-Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker — a wonderful $19 espresso maker. I dropped it and broke it, tried replacing it, but the replacements (2 of them) couldn’t hold pressure, thus didn’t perculate.
So I bought the Bialette. The most immediate difference is that the Bialette is stainless steel — the Bonjour was aluminum
The other more significant difference is that compared to the Bonjour, the Bilaette coffee is FLAVORLESS. In the Bialetti the water does not get infused with the intense espresso flavor like it did in the Bonjour.
i think the alumninum in the Bonjour really does make a difference. However, as stated above, the last two Bonjours I received had leaks and would not perculate.

Purchased the item considering that the Bialletti is a good brand. This product was made in India and I felt the quality wasn’t up to par. I returned the product because it arrived damaged, but I am not sure if I would purchase it again. Ok, but not great.

Maskes a nice cup of coffee. Not expresso but very close. It is also very well made.

Pour in the water, add the coffee, and heat it up. It’s simple and GOOD! Add some hot milk and you have a latte’.
